lighting the path to emotional wellness
ERICA Daniels, lpcc-s
Erica is licensed by the state of Ohio as a professional clinical counselor with supervisor endorsement, which means she can assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders and disturbances, and supervise clinical counselors during their own clinical work. Erica has been providing clinical counseling since 2006 to individuals ages 18 months to mid-life.
She has extensive training in human development, stress, & mental health disorders, as well as training in interventions such as:
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)
- TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
- ISTT (Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy)
- CFTSI (Child & Family Traumatic Stress Intervention)
- Play Therapy
From Erica:
I work with kids from age 2 -18, as well as adult women. If you have a kid who has experienced something stressful – abuse, neglect, divorce, medical ailments, multiple moves, etc. – and is anxious, angry, sad, distrustful, clingy and more, I will work with your child and you to effectively deal with what has happened and decrease problematic behaviors, emotions, and thoughts.
If you are an adult woman who has mild stress for whatever reason -- work is overwhelming, family is drama, etc. -- and you either want to alleviate that stress or just want someone outside your personal world to talk with, I will work with you to meet your goal.
I have extensive training in human development, brain development, stress, trauma treatment modalities (TFCBT, EMDR, CFTSI), and play therapy, but, at the end of the day, the therapeutic relationship is the key factor in determining success through therapy. Making people feel welcome and comfortable is important to me because you deserve that in this type of setting. You won't always be comfortable with your feelings during therapy, but I strive to help you be comfortable in the environment so that you can be comfortable exploring and dealing with discomfort in order to move you past stuck points.
My goal at The Firefly Company is to provide compassionate, knowledge-based mental health services to women and children to facilitate emotional growth. Whether you are a generally well woman wanting additional emotional support or a child who has experienced severe stress, I am committed to working with you to move you forward in your life.
